Tyres, Batteries and Bodywork

-  Tyres are the most essential safety component on your vehicle. They keep you glued to the road in all weathers, speeds and road conditions. Their upkeep is a priority to keep you and your family safe. Our very warm summers here can cause the rubber of tyres to age and crack. This is worth keeping in mind as aging and cracking will compromise the integrity of the tyre.

The minimum legal tyre depth is 1.6mm. However, it is recommended that tyres are replaced before the depth of the widthways tyre wear indicator strips have been reached at approximately 3mm. The difference in the two is about an additional two car lengths from 80kph

Fines for defective or worn tyres in Spain is 200€ per tyre!

It is important to note that to meet ITV requirements, the tyre brand, model, type and dimensions MUST MATCH on the same axle – both front tyres should match each other and the rear two tyres must match each other. Unless an absolute match can be found, this often means replacing TWO tyres, even though one may be perfectly serviceable

-  Batteries occasionally need to be replaced. Their ability to hold enough power to start a car effectively will diminish over time. Vehicles that are used rarely, spend a lot of time parked, or ones that endure a cold winter will see this battery degradation vastly accelerated. Our battery replacement technicians can fit the battery to your vehicle at home and dispose of the old unit on your behalf

-  Because of the milder weather here, exhausts are not replaced as often as in northern European climates. Therefore, a large stock is not kept by our exhaust technicians, but can be obtained reasonably quickly. Exhausts are to special order. Please enquire for further details relating to your specific vehicle

-  By its nature, repairing bodywork on a vehicle is very much on an individual basis. From minor scratches and dents, to more substantial bodywork, each vehicle would need to be inspected to be able to provide a quotation of repair.

It is important to remember that although damage may appear to be superficial, it is possible that more underlying work may be necessary tour complete the works to a standard.
